This has become a regular at many funerals recently. The words are taken primarily from Psalm 91.
Let us pray. As we begin our Lenten journey today, the ashes of death smeared on our brows, may we remember that we ARE dust, and to dust we shall we return. Yet, we know that we are forever in the palm of your hand, and you will never let go. Thank you for your promises. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen
