Dear members and friends of Prince of Peace,
It was with great excitement that I write to tell you that Rev. Charles Woodward has accepted the Call to be the next Senior Pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. When I spoke with him shortly after the congregational vote, Pastor Charlie was very excited and asked that I thank each of you for the overwhelming support. He will officially begin his duties with us shortly before Palm Sunday (March 28, 2021).
This has been a long and winding road for our congregation. To no surprise of any of us, the Call Committee showed great patience and diligence throughout the process. We all thank them for their commitment and congratulate them on a job well done. I would be remiss if I didn’t also thank Pastor Robin and Pastor Tom for guiding us through the process as our interim pastors. PastorTom will now focus his attention on preparing us in welcoming our new pastor.
Finally, I would like to thank our church council for all of their hard work and counsel. The individuals who have served on council during this process have kept us on track with our goals and aspirations. Our immediate past president of council, Dave Saunders, started us down this road with great planning and a lot of faith. The planning and his reminders to have faith kept us grounded and we thank him for his vision.
In two months we will have completed this journey and will embark on another. Pastor Charlie and his wife, Lisa are ready to embrace the challenges ahead of us. Are you? I’m positive that the odds are in our favor. God bless all of you.
