Welcome Visitors

Prince of Peace welcomes all people. In this Church home are many ministries, groups, and opportunities for worship, fellowship and service. We gather to promote the saving mission Jesus Christ has given us.

Worship

We celebrate Holy Communion at every service. We hold two Sunday services: 9am (Contemporary music with our band) and 11am (Traditional with our organ). Be- tween these services are several educational opportunities: Sunday School for all ages and coffee & donuts.

As you enter POP, you will usually be welcomed by greeters. Most POP members wear name tags (please wear one too if you feel comfortable) for the benefit of all. The greeters and ushers are happy to provide assistance if you need anything (bathrooms,
nursery directions, etc.). Ushers will hand you a worship bulletin as you enter the sanctuary.

Sit wherever you like, there are no reserved seats. Worship at POP typically beginswith a few announcements from the pastor, a gathering hymn, a children’s sermon, and readings from the Bible. After this, the pastor shares a sermon. This is followed by more music, prayers, an offering, Holy Com- munion, and a closing hymn. The pastor will give
any directions needed during the service. Visitors, guests, and members are all asked to fill out a pew pad sheet as it is passed down the pew. Please return it to its starting point so that the ushers may collect it during the offering time.

What Can I Expect?
  • That is a question we could spend weeks answering. The short version: the aspect of God we tend to focus on most is God’s grace. We cannot earn God’s love or forgiveness, it is always completely a gift. Perhaps the Bible verses that illustrate this best are Ephesians 2:8- 9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God—not the result of works, so that no one may boast.” (NRSV) Please visit the ELCA website, for more about our Lutheran understanding of God’s relationship with us.
  • Can I take part in Communion at POP?
Holy Communion is the Lord’s Table; it does not belong to us, but to God. Therefore, all Christians are welcome to participate in Communion at POP. Anyone who does not feel comfortable receiving Communion.
